UP Diliman ROTC holds Graduation Ceremony for COCC Batch 70-B “Sikadrani”

Batch 70-Bravo of the UP Diliman ROTC Cadet Officer Candidate Course held their Graduation Ceremony last Saturday 10 October 2020 through Zoom. The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Guest of Honor and Speaker Atty. Gilbert Raymund Reyes from the U.P. Vanguard Class of 1979.

Cadet Officer Candidate Course or COCC is the prescribed military training program for all aspiring leaders of the Cadet Corps. Those who have completed the course serve as Cadet Officers responsible for handling the basic Military Science program while also serving the University and the nation in its various activities.

The Batch 70-B course was conducted last semester and lasted from 01 February to 05 August 2020. Five cadets satisfactorily completed the academic and on-the-job training phases of the training program, namely:

  • C2Lt Lance Raphael DT Bassig 2Cl
  • C2Lt Hans Joseph R Daza 2Cl
  • C2Lt Felix Christian L Galleno 2Cl
  • C2Lt Colleen Dennyli T Guillermo 2Cl
  • C2Lt Jay Mark F Panganiban 2Cl

Batch 70-B or “Sikadrani” is a fusion of the words siklab, adlaw, and raniag, which mean burn, sun, and bright, respectively. These words come from various dialects in the Philippines, hence, aside from bringing light and hope, Sikadrani symbolizes unity in diversity.

Many are called but only few are chosen. Congratulations to the Batch 70-B of Cadet Officers!
