Gawin Ang Tama Walk 28 March 2010It was an early day for the UP Corps of Cadets last Sunday, the 28th of March 2010 as they prepped up for the launching of the Gawin ang Tama Movement at the Global City, Taguig.

The Gawin ang Tama Movement is a non-sectarian, non-political movement that seeks to promote values such as integrity, honesty, and hard work in society. The movement is a brainchild of the Character Building Foundation, Inc, a non-profit organization by the Weber Shandwick Worldwide.

Believing in its cause and working to imbue a stronger sense of integrity, honesty, and hard work, the UP Corps of Cadets walked the streets of the Global City with their heads and placards held high, urging people to “respect their elders”, “tell the truth”, “love our country”, and other such good deeds.

Together with the hundreds of other participants from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Philippine Navy, the Philippine National Police, Ninoy Aquino National Airport, Bantay-Bayan Foundation Inc, different youth organizations, sectoral groups, and lots of other non-government organizations, their message of integrity, honesty, and hard work rang clear throughout the streets of the Global City – and hopefully throughout the Philippines.

The walk ended at McKinley Hill, Taguig where the participants of the walk signed the Wall of Commitment, promising to uphold the values of integrity, honesty, and hard work.

The walk may be done and the placards may have been put down but the message of the walk still rings clear for the UP Corps of Cadets as they work with integrity, honesty, and hard work.
