UP ROTC joins Balikatan 2013

Cadet Officers from the University of the Phlippines Diliman Reserve Officers’ Training Corps together with the Assistant Commandant, Major Ronaldo C Mateo (Inf) PA, and Vanguard Kenneth Tirado witnessed firsthand different air crafts of the United States and the Philippines. The team attended the Balikatan Exercises of Aircrafts Static Display and Demonstration at Clark Airbase Pampanga on 13 April 2013.

For 29 years of Balikatan, Cadet Officers and other students were given the chance to participate in this years’ exercises. These kinds of activities will help promote ROTC to the students and increase patriotism and love of country to our youth.

The static display  includes air assets from the  Philippines:  MG-520 Attack Helicopter, UH-1H Utility Helicopter, Broncho Fighter/ Reconnaissance Plane, Cenza Trainer Plane.

The US Marines displays an F-18 Hornet, an MV-22 transport plane (Osprey) and the C130J Cargo Plane.

The educational trip is through the courtesy of General Emmanuel T Bautista, Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and Colonel Arnulfo Burgos Jr., the Chief of AFP Public Affairs Office. The team was guided by 1Lt Chai Cazcarro form the Philippine Navy.
