The U.P. Vanguard Heritage Library is the 38th unit of the U.P. Diliman Library Network. The collection includes not only books but also other formats such as serials/periodicals, paintings, photographs, memorabilia, realia and electronic resources.
It was reconstructed by Vanguard Class ’59 in celebration of its Golden Jubilee Anniversary on 14 March 2009. Construction cost was Php 574,030.90. On May 29,2009, Class ’59, headed by its Chairman, Vgd. Juanito “Sonny” T. Ventura, turned over its legacy library project to the U.P. Vanguard Inc. Board of Governors, headed by its Chairman, Vgd. Gilbert Raymund T. Reyes ’79 and national commander, Vgd. Jaime S. De Los Santos ’66. The U.P Vanguard Heritage Library was opened for service on 02 December 2011.(source)
The U.P. Vanguard Heritage Library is open every Wednesdays and Fridays, 1:00-5:00pm. The Vanguard Heritage Library is part of the UP Library System and offers an extensive collection of military literature and multiple computers with Internet access. The Vanguard Heritage Library is also used during meetings and other activities under the Department of Military Science and Tactics, the most recent one was the Testimonial Program for the Outgoing University Librarian, Professor Rodolfo Y Tarlit last 06 August 2014.
