Over 250 residents received free consultation and medicines in a Medical Mission held at Upper Homes, Brgy. Fortune, Marikina City on 18 November.

The Medical Mission was organized by the UP Vanguard University Chapter, University of the Philippines Reserve Officers Training Corps, Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity, Mu Sigma Phi Sorority and the Help Office of Congressman Miro Quimbo, in cooperation with the medical personnel of the University of the Philippines-Manila, Philippine General Hospital, and staff of Barangay Fortune.

The residents benefited from free blood pressure check up and consultation, height and weight awareness, free supplements and medicines and donation of herbal plants for their Barangay.

The residents were also introduced to ways on preventing and dealing with hypertension, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and discussion on common herbal medicine, preparing them and their dosage.

With the Upper homes being the highest part of Marikina City in terms of location, the team needed to climb 100 steps to provide service to the people.

The UP Vanguard University Chapter and the UP ROTC uphold the shibboleths of DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY as they team up with the first medical fraternity and sorority founded in Asia, the Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity and Mu Sigma Phi Sorority, and with the Office of Cong. Quimbo which aims to deliver the essence of public service.
