The UP Diliman University Student Council and the UP Corps of Cadets collaborated in leading the last day of the IskoOperation relief operations at the Department of Military Science and Tactics Quadrangle on 24 August 2013. More than 3,200 relief items were packed and turned-over to Laguna and Parañaque. Initially, 8 Cadet Officers and other volunteer students were deployed to Fairview Elementary School last August 21 in which 1,000 relief items were given to 200 families.
The UP Corps of Cadets dedicated one training day to volunteer for the relief operations last 24 August. They were the ones leading the other volunteers from different NSTP classes and organizations.
The IskoOperation relief operations showcased the spirit of volunteerism and the willingness of the cadets and students to help the victims of the calamity. It served as an avenue for the cadets to practice their leadership skills in directing the flow of the operation. It also increased the coordination between the UP ROTC and the University Student Council.
